Line Announcement System

What if the line could just tell you what the problem is?

The Message Announcement System is designed for manufacturing build lines. It can automatically play pre-recorded voice messages, chime tones or music in response to conditions detected by the line PLC.

Announced messages can provide more information than beacon lights alone. The system can handle up to 512 prepared messages that give details describing different situations.

The PLC communicates with the Announcement System over Ethernet IP connection or by discrete input. The line PLC sends a numerical code telling the Announcement System to play a specific message or string of messages. The message files are stored on the Announcement System.

The system uses multiple buffers that allow input from separate PLCs. Messages are sorted and delivered in order.

Multiple voices can be used. Different voices can be assigned to different input buffers. The same track trigger code plays the same message but in a different voice for each line PLC. The voices are generated using Text-to-Speech software so messages can be quickly customized using a keyboard.

Messages can be set to play on specific days and times, for example, every Monday at 4:00 pm or Monday to Friday at 9:00 am. Messages can be set to play once or to repeat.

The system comes with two 10 watt speakers and a line out for optional additional externally amplified speakers. Announcements can be audible throughout the plant. Supervisors and line workers are kept aware of line conditions at all times.

The system can play almost any MP3 or WAV sound file: multi-tone chimes, voice messages or music. Voice messages can be machine generated or recorded announcers.

Robust and durable system components are a good fit for industrial environments. The system is designed to be easy to install. Tech-Con can provide pre-configured hardware for installation by the customer or complete integration by Tech-Con integrators.
