ROBOT PALLETIZING CELL

Our robotic offering includes conventional palletizing cells.  Tech-Con has designed an inexpensive, versatile and self-contained cell, providing versatility in handling a variety of products from 1-litre to 4-litre oil containers, to food and juice containers, boxes and bins. A 5-axis robot supporting a standard or custom end-of-arm-tool, combined with the latest in palletizing software, can handle any production requirement. The unit is a standardized design that can be rapidly deployed or quickly customized to suit any needs.

With the latest technology in end-effector design, our end-of-arm tooling can automatically load and unload slip-sheets and top frames. These cells can be designed with automatic strapping and shrink-wrapping equipment, multiple lane in-feed and discharge lane systems.

                 
The Pallet Destacker is a proven, reliable design developed by Tech-Con Automation Inc. Robust pneumatic or mechanical End-of-Arm-Tool standard or custom designed for your unique application.Forklift access allows for quick redeployment throughout your plant.

Start with the basic Robot palletizer System


The basic Palletizer/Depalletizer Unit includes:

         
  • Robot: A 5 or a 6-axis robot is selected based on box weight and pick rate.
  •      
  • End-Of-Arm-Tool: Standard or custom designed pneumatic or mechanical gripper.
  •      
  • Frame: Integral support frame (portable by forklift) allows robot system to be easily redeployed.
  •      
  • Infeed Conveyor: Powered roller conveyor uses sensors and guide rails to precisely position boxes.
  •      
  • Safety Fence: Includes access door and light curtain at pallet outfeed area.
  •      
  • Basic Programming Code: The robot is programmed for a 1 in–1 out configuration.
  •      
  • Basic Training Credit: Enough to get you started. Your operator will be able to run the system.

Standard End-Of-Arm-Tooling is a pneumatic gripper suitable for cartons up to 32” x 16” (80 cm x 40 cm). Eight 3 inch (75 mm) cups are grouped in two zones of four cups each. Each zone can be operated separately. Depending on the porosity of the surface, the tool can lift up to 100 lbs (45 kg) per zone. On untreated cardboard the tool can lift approximately 50 lbs (22 kg) per zone.
   
The basic cell includes fencing and safeties around the robot and conveyors. One operator access door is equipped with safety switches that stop the robot when the door opens. The conveyor outfeed area is protected by a light curtain. The cell assembly meets Robot Safety Standards ANSI/RIA R15.06-1999.

expand the palletizer system by adding special options


To design your system, our engineers analyze your needs and produce a 3-D, real-time computer simulation of your cell. Cell layout, robot paths, pallet configurations and cycle times can all be worked out and tested before the hardware is built.

When the design satisfies, the actual unit is assembled and demonstrated on our shop floor before it ships. At your plant, our technicians set up the robot system and test it under actual operating conditions. Your operators are trained to run the system before our technicians leave. Advanced training is available.

The stand-alone palletizer system can be installed over an appropriate existing pallet conveyor or the basic Palletizer system can be expanded by adding a pallet conveyor.

ADD AN OPTIONAL PALMAG PALLET DESTACKER


The Pallet Destacker is a proven, reliable design developed by Tech-Con Automation Inc. The unit can pick up and hold six to eight pallets then dispense the pallets one at a time as required. The pallet buffer eliminates cycle time spent waiting for operators to load pallets while freeing operators for other tasks.

The pallet stacker can be equipped with an infeed conveyor to make loading pallets easier.
