Tech-Con Automation’s Technology Day Wrap-up. Thank-you to everyone who joined us!

On April 4th in the afternoon in Burlington, we held our inaugural Tech-Con Technology Day, an opportunity to showcase some of our latest projects including demos of our latest robotic material handling, waterjet cutting technologies, and customized tooling.

ABB had a YuMi robot, serving excellent shots of expresso to guests, along with Robots on Gudel servo rails and a booth full of video and information.

Another example of our capabilities specifically in material handling was shown by the robotic system “the puzzle scrambler” which utilizes machine vision to put together a jig saw puzzle.

The LYNX Omron showed the current AGV capabilities, which in this case include a GPS positioning system so that the LYNX can move around a room and avoid collision.

Another great showcase was the waterjet by FLOW, which allows for accuracy, quickness and speed – it allows you to cut and manufacture delicate solutions like the dragonfly below.

FANUC demonstrated their collaborative LR Mate 200iD robot. They also brought a LR Mate with integrated vision finding randomly place parts using their irVision technology.

Gudel a manufacturer of precision rail, for robotics and custom automation. Demonstrated a dual gantry robot, utilizing a FANUC i series motion controller and servos, to show the impressive capability and speed on a FANUC motion platform.

Rockwell had their thin client technology along with their VFD’s, HMI’s and various PLC’s which Tech-Con integrates into a majority of our systems. All starting at our in-house Panel Shop, which can build and CSA approve all your panels.

To top the event off Johnny Blonde made sure everyone was fed and able to enjoy some delicious flatbreads and pies.

The feedback was very positive and we are grateful for everyone’s support!
